![]() ![]() I hope you can figure this out, and tell me what I'm doing wrong. I am sincerely hoping to get help here! I'm attaching screenshots to show what the ISP says are the correct settings for the SMTP server, and what I have on Thunderbird so far. ![]() SMTP normally uses port 25, but it may happen to be blocked by your ISP: try switch to port 587 (or port 465 if you’re connecting via SSL). But it is unable to send mail via this account (which has been my principle account for years)/. If you’re using an SMTP authentication like SSL, check again your username and password. It also synchronizes with the Spectrum/ TWC server as far as downloading all the files and folders from there perfectly. Thunderbird works like a charm with Gmail. (this is the important item since no one even spectrum support ever used this outgoing SMTP server and everything else had tried failed even the one I had working prior on my old computer and iphone). That is, Spectrum is my ISP and so I have used a ".rr.com" account for years. My most important personal email account (with all personal, friends, family, and private matters) is all on a Spectrum (formerly Time Warner Cable) email account. Many common email issues, including error messages and trouble sending or receiving email, can be solved by checking and correcting your email settings. I have it setup as IMAP using for incoming/outgoing servers. And frankly, thats not what I would prefer to do. ![]() I tried logging via an insecure connection, but it doesnt work either. Its stating there is an invalid or expired certificate. Switching to Thunderbird, everything so far has gone well, except for one very frustrating problem. The message in Outlook is that there is an SMTP SSL check failure. Now I've quit Office tired of it being destroyed by buggy updates. I've switched back to using Thunderbird on a Windows 10 desktop, after many years of settling for Microsoft and using Outlook via the Office Suite provided by the university where I teach. ![]()
